Teeth Whitening
Did you know that teeth whitening is one of the most affordable cosmetic dental treatments available?
At our office, we trust Opalescence teeth whitening to give our patients a beautiful, fresh start to their smiles. We can fabricate custom whitening trays for you to take home and use nightly until you achieve your goals. We also offer same day whitening "Boost" and prefabricated trays "Go". To learn more about Opalescence whitening, we encourage you to visit their website. We would be happy to consult with you regarding your options.
Cosmetic Bonding
Cosmetic bonding is the application of a tooth-colored composite material directly to a tooth to improve its appearance. It can be used to improve a tooth’s shape or color, to close gaps between teeth, and more!
The material, a composite resin, is applied in a putty-like state. It bonds with the surface of the tooth and is allowed to harden in place. It can then be trimmed and polished to improve the appearance of your tooth while also allowing the material to blend in with your natural tooth enamel. Dr. Harvey can use cosmetic bonding to correct many different types of cosmetic flaws, including covering stain-resistant discolored areas, filling in small chips, and building up eroded teeth.
Porcelain Veneers
For dramatic cosmetic enhancement, you may want to consider veneers. Each veneer is a very thin piece of tooth-colored material. Each veneer is made in a dental lab and then carefully placed on the surface of your tooth by Dr. Harvey.
Your veneers will be custom-designed to fit the surfaces of your problem teeth and correct their inconsistencies in size, color, shape, or length. You can use one veneer to disguise a single discolored tooth or have veneers placed on many visible teeth to perfect your smile in a pleasing way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Porcelain veneers in Concord, NH offer patients a wide array of benefits for their smiles. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain your dentist will customize to fit over your teeth. This allows veneers to cover imperfections such as:
- Spacing between teeth
- Discoloration or stains
- Shape or size discrepancies
- Misalignment concerns
- Chipping, wear, or fractures
Porcelain veneers are also bonded directly to your teeth, making them durable and reliable for many years. Veneers can be utilized for repairing one tooth or completely redesigning an entire smile.
How Porcelain Veneers Work
It typically takes about two weeks and two visits with your dentist to complete your new smile. During your first visit, your dentist prepares your teeth for your veneers, and we place
temporary restorations. Wearing your temporary veneers gives you the opportunity to get used to the look and feel of your new smile.
It takes the dental laboratory about two weeks to craft your new veneers, and when they're completed, you'll return to our Concord, NH dental office to have them placed permanently. Now you're ready to enjoy all the confidence your new smile will bring you!

An ideal smile is one filled with beautiful, healthy, vibrantly white teeth. The reality, however, is often different. Many foods and drinks can stain your smile, and time itself will eventually cause your dazzling smile to darken.
More companies are constantly pushing out products for consumers who are dreaming of that white smile, including over-the-counter gels and strips and an array of whitening mouthwashes and toothpastes. The reality, however, is that none of these are as effective as a professional whitening treatment.
How Teeth Whitening Works
Whitening toothpastes have different methods to improve the appearance of teeth. Some contain a bleaching chemical (like hydrogen peroxide) in small doses while others use abrasives to “scrub” away surface stains. You may see some slight effect with diligent use of these products, but probably not as much as you were hoping. In fact, products with abrasives may even harm your enamel (and definitely should not be used if you have restorations like crowns or veneers since they can scratch the finish).
These products often cost considerably more than standard fluoride toothpaste. Given the cost of the products and the amount you will have to use to see any kind of results, it’s much more effective to invest in a professional whitening treatment where you will see real, long-lasting results. Your Smile Is Important
Your smile is an important factor in looking and feeling your best. It would be our pleasure to schedule you for a consultation, so that we may provide cosmetic dentistry options (which may include Invisalign/braces, whitening, veneers, porcelain crown, implants, etc.) to boost your confidence!
Cosmetic dentistry can come in many forms. It is often desired for chipped, cracked, misaligned or discolored teeth. Depending on your goals, there are different options available that may have different results and longevity.
Cosmetic Treatment
Bonding is another name for direct composite fillings and may be feasible in one visit. Veneers are indirect restorations made of porcelain that get bonded/cemented to your natural teeth, and typically take two or more visits. Please schedule a consultation with Dr. Harvey to review the pros and cons of all of your options so that you may make an informed decision.
